My doctor suggested that I have a steroid injection into my coccyx due to sudden onset of pain. Is this common?
A recent study found that persons with calcium crystals in the joints of the coccyx can be effectively treated with either oral or injected steroids. Three out of four subjects had resolution of their pain after treatment.
