What causes trigger finger? I'd never heard of it until my cousin had it.
Trigger finger doesn't seem to have a definite cause, which means doctors say it is idiopathic, or of unknown cause. It may be that people who have diabetes may be at higher risk of developing trigger finger, but that hasn't been proven.
