I am a 30-year-old woman who hates sports and is basically inactive. How big is my risk for osteoporosis?

There are many other risk factors that can affect bone health, such as smoking, low vitamin D and calcium intake, and alcohol consumption. Since women begin to lose a greater amount of bone around 40 years of age, it is advisable to do things now that will boost your bone health before you hit 40. That way, you'll have greater stores of bone when your body starts to lose bone content at a faster rate.
